Bureau Veritas Certification is pleased to announce that we have been accepted as a participant in the ANSI GHG Pilot Accreditation Program for Greenhouse Gas verification firms. The basis of the accreditation is the new ISO 14065 standard for GHG Verification Bodies. This program is designed to ensure the appropriate qualification of firms who undertake GHG verification work. It establishes strict protocols for how verification activities are conducted under a number of voluntary protocols, including the California Climate Action Registry (CCAR), the Chicago Climate Exchange (CCX), and The Climate Registry (TCR).
Bureau Veritas Certification has been an approved Verification Body for several years under CCAR and CCX, providing independent 3rd party verification of GHG inventories and issuing Verification Statements to support the members of these programs. As we have established our expertise in this important environmental field we have expanded these services to include verification for the new TCR protocol.
As the need for experienced GHG verifiers increases, we are committed to meeting customer requirements by ensuring that our GHG Verifiers receive the best training available. Our pursuit of accreditation under the ANSI program establishes Bureau Veritas as a leader in the field of GHG verification. Accordingly, we have established a new business group within Bureau Veritas North America to further develop our Climate Change Services. This group can provide a full range of expertise for companies who need assistance in identifying, measuring, quantifying, reporting and verifying GHG emissions.
We have designed these services to ensure that we provide the best qualified individuals to support customer needs, all the while maintaining full impartiality and confidentiality that is fundamental to this line of work.
